New Blair Douglas album coming soon
Renowned Skye-based composer and musician, Blair Douglas, is shortly to release his new album on the Macmenamna label.
The new album Leanaidh mi, SKYECD54, is expected to be available from mid-July although it will be downloadable before then. The album features new Gaelic songs written by Blair, performed by Cathy Ann MacPhee and Kathleen MacInnes, as well as new instrumental pieces and a reprise of his ever popular Kate Martin's Waltz. Blair has worked with a number of Nashville-based musicians on Leanaidh mi and, thanks to the wonders of new technology, was able to record all his parts from home in Skye, before sending files to the US to allow musicians there to add their parts.
Leanaidh mi follows Blair's previous albums Stay Strong and Angels from the Ashes on Ridge Records and his earlier Beneath the Beret and ever-popular A Summer in Skye, released by Macmeanmna. Blair also released a book of his compositions, Mànran, published by Macmeanmna.
